Adventure Hikes
Pup·ven·ture (noun)
1. an adventure for your pup
We bring play bow vibes to every walk, but we really instigate the zoomies on our field trips! Perfect for dogs who love being outside, our Pupventures offer the greatest flexibility in freedom: solo, in a group, on leash, or off-leash.
Choose an AM or PM slot, and Dog Days will come pick your dog up and take them to a local trailhead for 90 minutes of exploration. Round trip, your dog is generally gone around 2 hours if solo, or up to 3 hours if playing with a packmate.
Water bowls are cleaned & refilled at every visit to ensure they have plenty to rehydrate with after playtime, and muddy paws get some dedicated Towel Time before we turn them loose in your house.

Our Pupventure
Requirements
Excellent leash manners and obedience are required. This means no constant pulling and a reliable sit/stay/recall. We believe reactive dogs deserve trail time, too, and will consider such pups on a case by case basis.
Dogs must travel peacefully in vehicle (solo or with other dogs) & cannot be destructive when left alone for short periods.
Must be fully vaccinated (rabies, Bordatella, lepto, etc.), even if on a solo hike, due to riding in a vehicle shared with other dogs. Dog Days will accept titers.
Due to growth plate development, dogs must be at least 12 months old to hit the trails w/us. We suggest long walks for dogs still growing.
A 45-min assessment will be required before a dog will be approved for hikes.

Group Hikes

WHAT'S INVOLVED?
We'll pick your dog up, grab their canine besties, and hit the trail for 90 mins of play time. Due to travel between houses & trailheads, dogs in group hikes may be gone for 2 - 3 hrs. A solo Pupventure may rack up 2-3 miles, but a group hike may see even more steps on their Fi collar due to zoomies and exploring with their pack.
HOW MANY PACKMATES WILL MY DOG HAVE?
Our group hikes have a capacity of 4 pups, but realistically most hikes are just two households. Play groups are carefully curated and take into account each specific dog's age (puppies vs seniors), sex (no intact males & females will be paired together), preferred paces (sniffers vs. sprinters), and location in the county.
REQUIREMENTS
To ensure the safety of DDOS employees & your dog, we do have strict requirements for pups that hike with us. If your dog is not quite there yet, give us a call and let's discuss how to get them there. :)

On-Leash Hikes
WHAT'S INVOLVED?
We'll come pick up your doggo and head to a local trailhead for 90 mins of time on the dirt. We utilize 20' Biothane long lines to give your pup ample space to explore. They can still get zoomies on a 20' radius! :)
WHAT DOGS DO WELL WITH ON-LEASH HIKES?
On-leash hikes are great for most all dogs! We believe reactive dogs deserve trail time, too, as time in nature is a great de-stressor, and will accept reactive pups (for solo hikes) on a case by case basis.
REQUIREMENTS
While we have general requirements for hikes, our main non-negotiables for leashed hikes are that dogs must not constantly pull or be aggressively reactive.

Off-Leash Hikes

ANY DOG GOING OFF-LEASH WITH DDOS MUST BE TRAINED ON AN E-COLLAR AND IT MUST BE WORN @ ALL TIMES.
WHAT'S INVOLVED?
This is the option that gives your pup the ultimate freedom on trail. The world is their oyster on off-leash hikes, and sometimes we'll follow them off trail and let them lead the hike. In the summer, 3-4 miles is typical for off-leash hikes.
WHAT DOES DO WELL WITH OFF-LEASH HIKES?
Friendly, obedient dogs do great with off-leash hikes! If your dog thinks Milk Bones are more interesting than squirrels, they would do great with us off leash, as we don't allow for the constant harassment of wildlife.
REQUIREMENTS
For the safety of everyone involved, our general requirements are non-negotiable when hiking off-leash. All dogs must have reliable recall without the use of an e-collar, but we require e-collars while off-leash to be used as a Hail Mary in the event of an encounter with wildlife or other super stimulating variables. E-collars will be used as a backup, not the default method of communication.
