Dog Days of Summit is looking for the best damned pet sitters & dog walkers this side of the Mississippi! While customer service is the top priority (WE ARE PEOPLE PEOPLE!), we also spend our days walking with, playing with, and loving on some of the sweetest dogs, cats, etc. here in Summit County.

While the specific tasks may change from day to day, the core of this position involves providing excellent customer service, keeping all of the pets in your care safe, comfortable, and secure, the adapting to on-the-fly changes in routine.

Flexible, respectful scheduling: we avoid split shifts and you'll never get a text from us at midnight asking if you can walk a dog at 7:15 the next morning. When you're off the clock, you can turn your brain off.
Get paid to keep Summit beautiful! We give back to our local trails by partnering with Friends of the Dillon Ranger District to sponsor trail cleanup days 2-3 times a year.

Why Ya Might Not Love It
Bodily fluids. We are bombarded with welcome licks when we walk in the door, we pick up poop on every walk, and occasionally deal with puke from upset tummies and blood from broken toenails, etc.
We can't guarantee regular hours. Our business is demand-based, and that fluctuates weekly as clients' needs change.
You don't like being outside in all temperatures. While we do have inclement weather policies, dogs need a chance to potty whether it's hot, cold, raining, snowing, or it's a bright, sunshiney, bluebird day.
There's a lot of time behind the steering wheel, as you'll be driving between clients' houses for their appointments.
We are anti-AI and believe computers cannot replace human relationships. We do not allow ChatGPT, Claude, etc. to write comms with clients. You must use your own unique voice when writing report cards.
What We Need From You (Requirements)
You must be able to safely lift up to 40 lbs. Sometimes, dogs need assistance getting into a vehicle, going up/down stairs, etc. Bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, and walking 1-3 miles per visit is standard.
DDOS provides quality pet care from 7A - 11P every day. We require a minimum of 15 hours of availability per week, with two days of availability between 11A - 3P, as those hours see highest demand.
You'll need to have a smart phone that has enough space to download a few company-required apps and take photos/videos throughout your visits to upload to report cards. Training on tech will be provided.
You need to have a valid driver's license and your own reliable transportation to get to clients' houses. You must be comfortable driving in inclement weather, as we all know how dicey Summit County roads can get in January.
Paid sick time in compliance with CO labor laws.
